The goal of this children’s book is to interest children on local Cumberland, Maryland history through a sci-fi story. The author has used local collections of vintage photographs of the city and have photoshopped the alien characters on to these pictures. The planet Radon is facing depopulation due to a virus which makes having offspring impossible. One alien named Zachert is sent to earth to find a cure, but does not communicate back to the High Council for years due to technical difficulties and his forgetfulness. The aliens are able to become invisible or switch to human form. He finally reaches the council and shows them what he had been doing. Out of frustration the council sends a crew of three aliens to earth to see what is going on. They crash in Cumberland but finally locate Zachert. He proceeds to show them around Cumberland but finally says he did not find a cure. The female crew member Captain Patel miraculously is pregnant and has a little girl named Gracey. Gradually the earthlings become aware of the aliens and take a likening of them. Read more
